Houston King's story starts with a father's determination. In 1998, Leroy Houston began cleaning professionally to supplement his income as his eldest daughter, Tiffany, prepared to leave for college. What began as extra work quickly became something more.

By 2015, Leroy was planning for retirement. Tiffany, by then married and living in Los Angeles, felt a deep desire to build on her father's success rather than let it end. She and her family moved to Raleigh and purchased a 50 percent share in the company, forming Houston King.

In just four years, Houston King grew from roughly $200,000 in annual revenue with very little staff to $1.6 million in annual revenue and 55 full-time and part-time employees. That growth reflected a combination of Leroy's reputation and Tiffany's vision for scaling the business without sacrificing quality.

Demand for this work grew quickly as families recognized the value of commercial-grade cleaning at home. That demand gave birth to the Residential Services division of Houston King, which now offers recurring cleaning, deep cleaning, move in and move out cleaning, and carpet, window, and upholstery cleaning.
